Some of the projects that we will show you are small and in name alone are not that noteworthy.  Upon closer examination you will see why we have mentioned them here.   We are proud of the work that our frame shop is able to produce.  Architects like to make a statement and this sometimes allows us to put the craftsmen in our shop to the test.  From radius tops to huge window walls, we've done them all.

The Cumberland Gap Tunnel

tunnel1a.jpg (30792 bytes)

Here is an interesting project that was supplied by our Lexington Office.  It is the Highway 25E "Cumberland Gap" Tunnel that allows traffic to go from Middlesboro in southeastern Kentucky to Tennessee without having to go over the Cumberland Mountains.  At the time it was built, the tunnel was the most modern in the world.  It uses various technologies to monitor, direct and respond to traffic.  A control room operator uses several television monitors to identify any difficulty which may arise outside or within the tunnels.  You might be surprised to learn that Schiller Hardware supplied over $250k worth of various metal doors, stainless steel doors, security doors, frames and hardware inside the tunnel.
